Tommi (guitars), Immu (drums), Tatte (bass) and Nebiros (vocals) gave birth to this beast of a band back in the year 1999. This line-up of youngsters recorded their first two demos "Delicacies of the Cadaver" and "Fabric of the Multiverse" in which they already showed their filthy and devastating intentions. Then joined a guy called Axu to replace Nebiros on vocal duties and some other line-up changes occurred over the years until the band was set as a three-piece combo (Immu, Sammu and Axu), enough in number to pulverise everything in sight.

Slugathor's approach to Death Metal is based upon slow and long buildups to explosive and fast crescendos with an obvious wink to the masters Bolt Thrower. A simple yet effective formula: rotten, muddy, heavy and crushing Death Metal done the old way.
Unfortunately the band was prematurely put to rest in 2009 after the release of their third and last full-length "Echoes from Beneath", the best effort in the band's whole career in my opinion. A short-lived band that left a bunch of solid releases as legacy.
Whatever the band name means (it really has no actual meaning) Slugathor stand for putrefaction, death and destruction, something that should make any proper deathhead drool like a sick dog
